Saturday afternoon the Trojans faced off against the Gonzaga Bulldogs in Irvine. The Trojans led after the first with a low score of 2-1. But by the start of the second quarter the Trojans were back on top of their game. The Trojans scored 4 in the second quarter and the Bulldogs scored 2 bringing the score at half to 6-3 with the Trojans on top. The third quarter would be the last time Gonzaga would score. The Trojan defense stepped up big, but it was Junior goalie Aaron Christman that had the largest impact on defense by not allowing one goal for the entire 4th quarter. The Trojan offense also made their mark in a large way with Kai Sato leading USC with 5 goals and 1 assist to outscore the Bulldogs 12-4 after the first quarter with a final score of 14-5.
The Trojans next take on the SDSU Aztecs on Saturday at home on Cromwell Field at 7:00pm.
