[4.09.06] USC loses third division match-up

The Trojans tried to rekindle some of the fire from the early season on Sunday against LMU in their third division game of the season. USC came out looking like a much different team than they have in past weeks and were tied at the end of the first 1-1. The Trojans continued to play with this passion through the end of the half remaining close. However, USC let their focus slip in the third to allow LMU a four goal streak. It appeared that it was over for the Trojans until late in the fourth when they came back with their own four goal streak but it was too little too late. The Trojans lost 11-8.

USC's next game is their final division game vs. UCSB away on Saturday, April 15th at 7:00pm at USC on Cromwell Field.

[4.01.06] Trojans fall to USD

USC traveled to San Diego Saturday to take on the 2005 Division B Champion USD squad. USD came out firing right from the start and the Trojans were never able to catch back up. Despite many great shots from the offense the USD goalie was stopping almost everything thrown at him. The Trojans lost the contest 15-3.

The Trojan's next game is another division game vs. LMU away on Sunday, April 9th at 1:00pm at LMU.

[3.26.06] Trojans lose both in a double-header weekend

On Friday night USC stayed close in the opening quarter to a very tough Chapman squad but was soon riddled with penalty after penalty. The Trojans spent close to a quarter playing man-down, despite this disadvantage they made a late rally in the fourth quarter but it just wasn't enough and fell to Chapman 16-9 in their second division game. Then two days later the Trojans travelled to Claremont. USC was able to remain close throughout the whole game but just never could quite catch Claremont and ended up losing 11-6.

[3.10.06] Trojans fall to UCLA

USC broke out to a early 3-1 lead. UCLA then came back and eventually tied it up 4-4. The Bruins then went on a small run, making the score 8-6 at half. In the second half both teams came out fired up, playing in a very physical battle. Freshman midfielder Corey Janoff held is own at the face off X, as he went against one of the best in the WCLL. Kai Sato had five goals on six shots.An exciting game in which UCLA came out on top.

The Trojan's next game is another division game vs. Chapman at home on Friday, March 24 at 7:30pm on the Howard Jones Field.

[3.04.06] Trojans crush UNLV 23-4

Saturday afternoon the Trojans played the Rebels of UNLV. The Trojans were in dominance the whole game never letting up. Leading goal scorer for the game was Cameron Estey(5g, 1a) and leading point scorer was Grant Yeatman(4g, 3a). USC played all three goalies with each having a save percentage of 80% or better. The Trojans also recorded goals from eleven different players to end with a final of 23-4.

The Trojans next face-off against their cross-town rivals the UCLA Bruins at home at 7:00pm on Friday, March 10.

[2.25.06] Trojans suffer disappointing loss to SDSU

Saturday evening the Trojans took on the Aztecs of SDSU. With the Trojans leading at the end of three quarters the Aztecs made a comeback to take the lead by one in the fourth. After the Trojans brought the game back to even the Aztecs scored once more in the final seconds to win 8-7.

The Trojans next face-off against the UNLV Rebels on Saturday at home on Cromwell Field at 1:00pm.

[2.18.06] Trojans defeat Gonzaga 14 -5 with a 4th quarter shutout

Saturday afternoon the Trojans faced off against the Gonzaga Bulldogs in Irvine. The Trojans led after the first with a low score of 2-1. But by the start of the second quarter the Trojans were back on top of their game. The Trojans scored 4 in the second quarter and the Bulldogs scored 2 bringing the score at half to 6-3 with the Trojans on top. The third quarter would be the last time Gonzaga would score. The Trojan defense stepped up big, but it was Junior goalie Aaron Christman that had the largest impact on defense by not allowing one goal for the entire 4th quarter. The Trojan offense also made their mark in a large way with Kai Sato leading USC with 5 goals and 1 assist to outscore the Bulldogs 12-4 after the first quarter with a final score of 14-5.

The Trojans next take on the SDSU Aztecs on Saturday at home on Cromwell Field at 7:00pm.

[2.10.06] Trojans lose first of season to Cal Poly 15 -9

USC (2-1) hosted the Cal Poly Mustangs on Friday night and suffered their first defeat of the season. The Trojans were close to tying the game near the end of the first half, down by only three, but Cal Poly answered with a three goal surge to end the first half. Both teams scored an even number of goals in the second half. The Trojans will play Gonzaga their next game on February 18th at 2:00pm at UC Irvine.

[02.04.06] Trojans Beat Stanford 11-8 in Home Opener

Saturday night the Trojans faced the Stanford Cardinal for their home opener. USC was behind at halftime 6-3, but outscored the Cardinal in the third quarter tying the game at 6 heading in to the 4th quarter. With several lead changes in the final quarter USC came out on top, claiming it's second straight victory. Pat Fitzgibbon led USC with 4 goals, while the Trojan defense allowed only two second half goals.

The Trojans host Cal Poly next on Friday night, Feb. 10th on Cromwell Field at USC at 7:00pm.

[02.03.06] Trojans Open Season With 19-7 Win Over UCI

USC opened their season on Friday night in Irvine, beating the UC Irvine Anteaters 19-7. Both offense and defense played well never letting UCI get close to the lead. Kai Sato(3g,5a) led the offense with Cameron Estey and Grant Yeatman each tallying hat tricks.

[11.20.05] USC Lacrosse Goes 3-0 at Best of the West Fall Tournament

The Trojans made a successful trip to Las Vegas to participate in the Best Of The West Tournament on October 22nd , 2005. Hosted by UNLV, the Trojans went 3-0, defeating UNLV 12-0, Cal-Berkeley 6-3, and Utah 6-5. Significant contributions were made from several true freshman as well as key returners. Head Coach Nate Watkins and Assistant Coach Kevin Meyran are anticipating a successful spring campaign which features nine home games for the Trojans.
